The world's two largest battery companies, BYD and CATL, are preparing for a real revolution in the electric vehicle industry. By the end of 2024, they will introduce new lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries capable of charging from zero to 100% in just 10 minutes.

🔹 CATL plans to release new Qilin 2.0 batteries with the ability to charge 6C by the end of this year.

🔹 BYD will present its Blade 2.0 batteries with similar characteristics in the second half of 2024.

🛠️ LFP technology is gradually becoming dominant in the world of electric vehicles thanks to continuous improvements in performance. The best LFP batteries are now almost as close to NMC batteries in terms of energy density, and thanks to fast charging, they are even more attractive to manufacturers.

🚗 However, don't forget about the infrastructure. To charge such powerful batteries, chargers with a capacity of more than 650 kW are required. Currently, most available charging stations have a capacity of only 120 kW.
